Work was recently completed on the big LED screen at entertainment venue The Printworks in Manchester city centre. The building is Grade 2 listed so Boldman manufactured an ultra-lightweight oblik structure using Boldman’s Aluminium Profile System. The screen resolution is 1344 x 768, made up of 168 screen sections which are then mounted onto our specially designed and developed modular aluminium framework.
Aluminium has been chosen over steel as the ideal material for manufacturing the largest outdoor high-resolution LED screen supporting structure, which has been developed and manufactured by Boldman. It is the largest of its kind, weighing 5.5 tonnes – but this is lighter than the alternative steel.
